Destination Destin | Beach Get Away & Vacation Clothing Haul

Hey everybody! I know I haven’t posted in a while, I was a little busy the past few days. But feel free to tell me all about how you spent your last week in the comments, and don’t be shy! I don’t bite very hard lol.

So last Wednesday I drove down to Destin, Florida with my boyfriend, Mitch, to spend some time with him and his family at the beach.

Mind I haven’t been to the beach in years, and the only reason I went back then was for a softball tournament so it wasn’t exactly a “vacation”.

So considering this was my first legitimate vacation I’ve ever really had (bummer, I know. I don’t get to travel much), I was totally stoked to go.

WEDNESDAY

On my first night in Destin, after the sun went down and the usual herd of beach-goers had fled the sandy shores, Mitch and I walked down to the ocean for a moonlight adventure. We searched for ghost crabs and walked the shore line for a few miles, then turned back towards our condo to call it a night.

THURSDAY

Early on Thursday afternoon, Mitch and I met up with his family at the beach. Then, after swimming in the ocean for a while, we decided to go parasailing.

Neither of us had ever gone parasailing before, and I think Mitch was a lot more nervous than I was to be honest. Surprisingly though, it wasn’t scary at all! It was peaceful and the view was pretty amazing.

FRIDAY

On Friday the whole family got together for a homemade seafood feast. Later that night, Mitch and I went back out onto the beach searching for more crabs and scanning the seaside with a metal detector.

Then when we realized a piece of aluminum foil and a bottle cap were the only two things we would find, we started collecting sea shells and made our way back to the condo again for bed.

SATURDAY

Early the next morning, Mitch and I finally had the opportunity to go shopping. We drove down to a huge strip mall with about 50 different stores and circled the parking lot, and I decided to stop at American Eagle Outfitters first.

As always though, Mitch couldn’t stand walking around the store while I shopped, so he rushed me out pretty quickly. I was sure my shopping spree would end there, but I was lucky enough that he took me to Target too.

We made two more stops at Bass Pro Shops and Pizza Hut, then drove back to the condo to eat and change into our bathing suits.

After lunch, we walked to the beach and spent a few hours snorkeling and searching for sand dollars. By mid afternoon both Mitch and I were tuckered out, so we decided to call it a day and spent the rest of our Saturday recuperating.

SUNDAY

We continued to recoup until it was time for dinner on Sunday evening. The whole family met up again to ride the water-taxi down to a restaurant on Harbor Walk.

We all ate and rode back to the dock near our condo on the water-taxi, then Mitch and I ditched to walk down to the beach one last time before returning to Georgia.

With both of us well rested, we decided to bring our fishing poles and spend the whole night fishing. It wasn’t until we ran out of fishing tackle that we had to turn back, but we still stayed up all night digging for sea shells in the sand.

MONDAY

Sunday night blurred into Monday morning. After the cup I had brought to hold all of our sea shells got full, Mitch and I walked back to the condo just two hours before Dawn and restocked on fishing supplies.

We made another short walk back to the water to fish just a little bit longer, and when the sun finally came up we were back to the condo to pack our things and hit the road.

Surprisingly we were able to make it out before 7am (8am Georgia time), and we arrived back at home by 2:30pm!

But it wasn’t long after we were unpacked that Mitch brought me out to the lake for even more fishing. I was exhausted, but I really didn’t mind much. I just thought it was pretty cool that we were able to fish in two different states in a single day!

VACATION CLOTHING HAUL

So even though I wasn’t able to shop around for very long, I’m still happy with what I ended up with.

The first item from my vacation clothing haul is this pair of American Eagle Jeggings. They’re so comfortable, and I love the light/somewhat dirty wash they have. I bought them for $34.99 in Florida, but you can purchase them online for $39.99 on the AEO website!

Next I have this second pair of American Eagle Jeggings, which are also incredibly comfortable. They have a dark grey wash, mild distressing, and they are super low-rise. In Florida they were on sale for $19.99, but you can find them in the clearance section on the AEO website for $29.99!

I also bought this adorable cold shoulder soft and sexy tee from American Eagle (in black). It’s strappy, has a keyhole front, and looks great with my new jeans! It’s even on sale right now for $12.47 on the AEO website!

My last item from American Eagle was this totally cute mock-neck shift dress. It also has a keyhole front (so it looks sort of like a choker dress) and it has a beautiful ombre effect. You can actually buy it from the AEO website now for only $20.97!

After shopping at AEO, I also stopped by Target to look at their bikinis. While I was there I picked up this cute pair of ruffle bikini bottoms for $17.99. I just love the scrunched cheeky look!

Lastly, I purchased this pair of extra cheeky bikini bottoms, which were also at Target for $17.99. They have two straps on each side, and they match well with the black bikini top that I already own.

Well that was it for my clothing haul, thanks for reading! Don’t forget to tell me about how you spent your last week in the comments! And remember to follow my blog Vital For Style if you haven’t already, because I’ll be posting again later on this week. So be on the lookout, and I’ll be back soon my loves!

Trust Me, You Don’t Really Want Bigger Boobs—And Here’s Why

Hey guys! I hope you’ve all had a great Saturday, and please feel free to let me know how your week went in the comments!

So today for Style Saturday, I’m gonna talk about the struggles we “chestier” woman face when it comes to fashion, and why you should stop wishing for bigger boobs! I mean, you have no idea how lucky you truly are.

And let’s be honest. If you are someone who just wants a bigger cup size to appear more attractive to men (which I get it, we’re all human and we all want to appear more attractive to the opposite sex), then you’re wasting your time.

The right guy for you will love you exactly the way you are. If you’re using your body as a way to attract a man, you’ll be attracting the kind of man you DON’T want to be with! Annnndd that’s how toxic relationships are formed, but that’s a topic for another day.

Plus, you should already know that all you really need to attract a guy is your kick-ass personality, and that’s a fact!

But whatever it is that makes some people think that having big boobs is such a great thing, I can assure them it’s honestly not worth it! Here are just a few of the things that make big boobs such a burden.

•  •  •

1. YOUR OWN BRA CAN’T EVEN KEEP THEM UNDER CONTROL!

I swear, I have to adjust my boobs at least 100 times a day. And I don’t mean bra, I mean boobs.

Every time I look down to my chest, I see that my boobs have mysteriously tried to escape from my bra and are starting to pop out of the center.

It’s the most annoying thing in the world, and it happens just about every time I move. Literally the only way to avoid it would be to wear some sort of granny-nursing bra, and I am neither a granny, nor am I nursing so..

*Makes classic resting-bitch face*

•  •  •

2. THEY MAKE YOU LOOK FAT

Even if you’re skinny, having big boobs can make you look so much bigger when wearing certain styles of clothing.

Since having a larger bust means your boobs actually extend further out infront of you, clothes like tunic tops and shift dresses that just drape over your body will make you look wider.

These kinds of styles create the same illusion for everyone, though. Even smaller chested women will look wider than they would if they were wearing something fitted.

But imagine two different woman that are equally as thin, but differ in cup size. One woman wears a size 32A bra while the other wears a 32D, and they both try on the same shift dress.

Which woman would appear thinner in that dress? The woman who wears a 32A of course! And even though the woman who wears a 32A is no thinner than the other underneath the dress, the woman wearing a 32D would simply look wider because some styles of clothing (such as shift dresses) are less flattering on large chested women. Not science, just the cold hard truth!

3. BIKINI TOPS ARE ALWAYS A HASSLE

If you have big boobs, you probably have a very hard time finding a good bikini top during swimsuit season. Am I right?

You can’t wear bandeau bikini tops, because they provide no support whatsoever. I’ve honestly never even bothered to try one on because I already know that it would just. not. work!

Then you have halter neck bikini tops, which are always painful to wear. Why? I’ll tell you why. Because boobs are freakin’ heavy, man! And if you want to hold your big girls in, you’ve gotta tie that string around your neck pretty dang tight. Then by the end of the day the back of your neck just hurts like hell.

But we’ve also got those bikini tops that are similar to your everyday bra, with straps that go over each of your shoulders. The problem with these is that without an under wire, almost any movement can easily trigger an escape (you know what I mean).

Then the rest of the bikini tops out there are either too ugly or they make your boobs look weird, and those are really our only options!

4. THEY EVEN STAIN YOUR FAVORITE SHIRTS

How you ask? Because they are sneaky little bastards that have minds of their own, minds that hate us! And here’s how they will do it…

You could just be relaxing at home, minding your own business, ya know. Maybe you’re munching on some chili and watching TV on the couch. You mindlessly feed yourself one mouth-full of chili at a time while your eyes are glued to some infomercial you’re watching. You’re about to take your next bite, but just before it reaches your mouth… BOOM!

One little bean, or one tiny drop of sauce finds its way off of your spoon or fork, or whatever utensil you use to eat your chili, and it lands directly on your boobs below staining your shirt. And just like that, your new favorite shirt is officially ruined! (You’d be surprised at how often this kind of thing actually happens)

If your boobs weren’t so big and always in the way, that little bean or that drop of sauce could have missed your new shirt completely and just fallen back into the bowl, on the table, or even on your lap. Literally anywhere else besides your favorite shirt.

•  •  •

Alright now ladies, I could literally go on and on about how having big boobs is more of a pain in the ass than anything else. As a female that wore a C-cup by the 5th grade, I can honestly say I hate them.

So just take my word for it and be thankful. They’re really not all that they’re cracked up to be, and stressing over them, or potentially spending thousands of dollars to enlarge them one day would NOT be worth your time or money.

Rainy Day Activities To Brighten Your Otherwise Gloomy Day!

Hey Everyone! How have you been doing lately? Please remember to let me know in the comments! 👇

I’ve been feeling pretty groggy lately, to be honest. The past three or four days have just been humid, wet, and gloomy, and my mood has definitely been affected by this bull-crap weather.

Not to mention my cable keeps going out from these crazy “crack-so-loud-you-jump-out-of-bed” and “shake-your-whole-house” kind of thunderstorms I’ve been having in my area lately.

My dog is even on edge, and for the past few days he’s been quick to snap at my boyfriend’s dog for invading his personal space. But, that could just be because he’s also a big ‘ol brat and he feels entitled to everything because I spoil him to death lol.

Anyway, I got sick and tired of laying around the house and decided to think up some rainy day activities I could do to occupy my time. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far!

RAINY-DAY ACTIVITIES THAT WILL BRING OUT THE SUNSHINE

• • •

1. Go bowling with your boyfriend or girlfriend

This is the perfect date-night activity! Bowling is so much more fun when it’s just you and your man, and it can be a great way to bond with your partner.

• • •

2. Try your hand at abstract painting

I specify abstract because there’s no limits to what you can paint. And what better way to combat the bad weather blues than to get knee deep into an art project and express your creativity?!

• • •

3. Clean out your closet and take pictures of the clothes you no longer want and post them on Poshmark to make some $$$

You may or may not be totally familiar with my blog, but if you are then you know that I’m addicted to Poshmark!

Go read some of my other posts to learn more about Poshmark and remember to use code GOZXK at sign up to earn and extra $5 towards your first purchase! Woo-hoo!

• • •

4. Catch up on that spring cleaning you never started

I know I haven’t!

• • •

5. Indulge in some self-care activities

Give yourself a mani-pedi, look online for homemade face mask recipes, or conjure up a hair mask to nourish and strengthen your hair and fight against those little bastard split-ends that we all have (whether we like to admit it or not, they’re there lol). Or you can relax and find a good book to read, or download an e-book on your tablet or phone!

• • •

6. Look up yoga videos on YouTube and follow along on your phone

This idea can go for workout videos too! Just pick one of the millions of exercise videos on YouTube, clear out some space in the living room, and follow along to the video on your phone!

• • •

7. Finish some laundry and organize all of your shoes and the clothes in your dresser or closet

The clothes in my dresser only stay folded for so long before my drawers are just a mess of loose articles of clothing. I’ll take my folded clothes and try them on, decide not to wear them, and throw them back in the drawer. By the end of the week my clothes are all over the place and I can’t find a single thing I’m looking for.

Organizing your clothes will make them easier to locate, and keep them in good condition! Which will come in handy (and make you more $$$) if you ever decide to sell them on Poshmark!

• • •

8. Check out my different DIY posts and try out one of the projects I featured

I recently decided to convert my Fashion Blog into a Fashion + DIY + Lifestyle Blog so I could share tutorials from some of my many fun DIY projects. The materials you’ll need will usually be household items you already have, they’re fun and kid-friendly, and they can make great gifts for friends or family!

• • •

9. Clear out your fridge and make sure you don’t have any old foods or expired condiments sitting around

Since my boyfriend never looks at expiration dates on anything other than the milk in our fridge, I’m responsible for clearing out the rest. You’ll be surprised at how many expired condiments you might have in the doors of your refrigerator lol.

• • •

10. Bake something yummy, look up neat recipes online until you find one that only calls for ingredients that you already have on hand.

Cook up some kind of new concoction of your own and Chow down at your delicious masterpiece, or keep it simple and bake some of those “just add milk” muffins you get in a bag from the grocery store. Whatever butters your bread boo-boo! 😉

• • •

11. If your significant other is present, try playing a new game together to keep things interesting

Look up cute couple games on the internet, have a drawing contest, write each other love letters, play would you rather or 20 ?’s

• • •

12. Get caught up on your finances and plan out your next week’s schedule

Make up for all that time you spent procrastinating during the week while it was sunny and there was tons of fun things to do, and get caught up on all the Adult stuff that just makes you want to be a kid again.

For example… paying the bills, coming up with your next month’s spending budget, deciding what to bring to that family get-together your mom keeps calling you about. You know, stuff like that.

• • •

Well, that’s all I can think of right now. Truth be told I’ll probably just blog, Netflix, and chill all day lol.

But what kind of things do you like to do on rainy days? Let me know which ideas you liked from my list, and Share your own in the comments below so I can add on to the Activities above! And don’t worry, all those who share their ideas will be credited if they’re added to the list!
