Hair Care Routine For Thin, Dry, Heat-Damaged Hair

Hey everyone, I’m sorry for being absent so much lately. I’m still really busy with my new job and I haven’t had as much time to write these past few weeks.

Fortunately though, I have discovered a new hair-care routine that really seems to have made a huge difference in the health of my hair. So what normally looks like a head full of dry and damaged hair, now looks like a hydrated and healthy set of locks that feels soft and smooth to the touch.

So like most hair-care routines, my process begins in the shower. The difference is that I don’t just shampoo and condition my hair. I condition my hair 3 different times with 3 different products before it’s all said and done.

First I like to start by washing my hair with Pantene’s Repair & Protect Shampoo. I’ve noticed that my hair usually feels a lot softer when I use Pantene, and it’s honestly been one of my favorite brands for quite some time. I highly recommend their products, and if you’re not a fan of Pantene then get the f*** off my blog… Haha, just kidding guys. Sorta?

Lol anyway, after my hair has been stripped of all the dirt and oil that made it completely unmanageable, I move on to the next step in my process, which would be to condition my hair with Not Your Mothers Way To Grow Long & Strong Conditioner.

I started using this conditioner just recently in hopes it would maybe help my hair grow a little bit faster, since my hair grows at an unbearably slow pace. But like I said, I just started using it so I’ll have to give you all the low down on how it works for me after a few weeks/months of continued use.

To be honest though, I have pretty low expectations because I’m starting to feel like nothing will ever help my hair grow longer. But we’ll see.

What I don’t really like about this conditioner is that it doesn’t actually do much conditioning. My hair doesnt get that silky smooth, totally detangled texture that you would expect from a conditioner, which is okay because I just rinse it out and apply Pantene’s Repair & Protect 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner.

Instantly after I add the deep conditioner into my hair it feels like silk. I leave it in for 3 or more minutes as advised, and then I’m on to the next phase of my process.

My fourth and final step (in the shower) is to apply a generous amount of Garner’s Whole Blends Honey Treasure Repairing Mask all throughout my hair!

Like the deep conditioner, I allow the mask to sit in my hair for over 3 minutes and then I take a comb and run it through my hair. I make sure to thoroughly rinse out what remains of the hair mask and I wrap my hair in a towel.

Finally out of the shower, I prepare to complete my hair-care routine. I remove the towel from my head and proceed to part and comb my hair once more.

With my hair still wet, I take my Suave Honey Infusion 10 In 1 Leave-In Conditioner Cream and work it throught the ends of my hair.

The instructions direct you to use about a quarter sized amount, however I use about 2 or three times that. I make sure to massage the product through the ends of my hair as evenly as I can, and I comb my hair one last time.

At last, after allowing the leave-in conditioner to sit in my hair for a few minutes, I finish styling my hair with a hair dryer and straightener.
